This Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre exhibit was mounted in combination with a photo exhibit on the Chinese diplomat Dr. Feng Shan Ho. In the late 1930s, he rescued a number of Austrian Jews from the Nazis by granting them visas to emigrate to Shanghai. Several people he helped to save eventually settled in Vancouver and their stories are told in graphic panels which we designed to surround the photo exhibit. Working in English and Chinese, with a large number of photographs and artifacts, we created a design which blends graphics from official documents, such as visas and passports with warm Chinese reds and golds. A poster design and bilingual printed 36-page monograph accompany the exhibit.
